We have our lovely boy Scout available for adoption and ready to interview some families!

Scout is a very handsome Golden Lab mix of just about a year old, and about 50 pounds. He was found as a stray. We are always surprised when a dog like him is not claimed! He’s a happy, funny, goofball who after spending months in the shelter is now enjoying the experience of truly being a dog! He is being fostered with a Canine Camp in Monkton, VT and has made many friends of all sizes and ages. He is curious of all new pups and tries hard to make friends in a respectful way, always inviting play and the chase game.

Scout is learning some basic skills, he didn’t have many coming from the shelter, but he now is learning to enjoy his crate time and respecting boundaries. He is impressing us with his recall and is polite in taking treats. Leash skills are next on his agenda which we both will enjoy.

Scout is ready for whatever and whenever you want to include him in. He will follow your lead to see what’s next on the agenda. Need a helping paw, he has four that are always willing to lend one or all four! He’s been great on the trails, LOVES the water and is an agile guy that can climb rocks, and jump over logs like a champ.
He's a nice balance of Mr. Adventure outside and can settle and entertain himself inside with his plethora of hardy toys. Fill his athletic and ambitious self and enjoy the company of an impressive and endearing partner both in and outside of your home.

He has not been tested with cats, but our bet is that he would want to engage in play. He has not been around young kiddos, but he could be a playmate and friends with respectful kiddos over 12.

His ideal home is a family who loves outdoor fun, maybe another playful dog who could be a fun friend and a mentor, committed time for teaching good manners, provide plenty of toys, a fun lifestyle and the desire to have a best friend.
