More About Bunny

Meet Cinnamon Bun aka Bunny! At approximately 1-year old and 25 lbs, Bunny is our pint-size hound/spaniel? mix (best guess). We have been so lucky to foster her since she arrived in VT on November 3. A bit shy at first, after a day or two of getting settled, sleeping her little heart out, and feeling more comfortable, she truly is lovely and a blast to be around. We think she is the sweetest kiddo! Once she connects to her people, she will use her voice to communicate in the most adorable and endearing way. She doesn’t really ‘bark’ and will usually retreat when feeling uncomfortable or unsure. We have been teaching her to retreat behind her person until she feels safe or is welcomed to try again.

Bunny has been on off-leash excursions and with some basic recall training, she has done super well!! She’s a quick study and has learned some basic obedience while staying with us. She loves playing with her soft toys, her benebone, and her other dog friends. Her favorite friend has been our 33 lb rescue pup, Lilly. They love to run and chase one another. She has a lovely play style with other dogs. She gives other dogs space when they need it. We have found that miss Bunny also enjoys the company of our resident kitty. She acted like she had known him her whole life, gave him space and was not engaging in play or trying to pick on him or chase.

Bunny can be trusted alone in a safe space (we let her have access to the living room when we are not home). We haven’t needed to crate her. She loves to snuggle but is content to roll up in a ball at the bottom of the bed, on her dog bed, or the couch. She loves soft surfaces best! Bunny is low to medium energy and would do well with a daily walk or walks on-leash for some good sniffs but is also happy running around the backyard and engaging with her people and her dog friend. She loves to give hugs and kisses but is not overly needy. With young kids, she is reserved at the start with lots of quick movements and unpredictability. But once she warms up, she interacts nicely with gentle touch from the younger people.
