Salt was surrendered to our South Carolina partner shelter by her owner with another dog after the owner could no longer care for them. This pretty spotted mixed-breed girl is about 2 years old and a good size at 45lbs. She has surely had some puppies but was recently spayed, and is up-to-date on all vaccines and on flea/tick/heart worm preventative.

Salt is tolerant of baths, being handled, and being picked up. She rides well in the car, and walks very well on the road with her harness. She likes other dogs but isn't in their faces, and entertains herself well - she loves toys! She is quiet in her crate and hasn't had any accidents. Very quiet in the house as well - in fact, the most noise she makes is usually her feet bouncing around after a toy! She is a little bit clumsy, goofy, playful, active, and sweet.

From the SC shelter volunteers: "Voted easiest to manage! Salt had THE best time on a recent outing with three teens and hands down, she won the award for easiest leash walker and most polite! Now, that's high accolades when the kids have met several other dogs so when Salt got the update, she was so very happy! This lovely sleek jacketed lady is mellow, tranquil and softly affectionate. Very, very accepting of other dogs (even those who want to get right in her face), Salt is a gentle natured girl who is patient and very unflappable. Folks spanning all ages would find her to be a perfect companion pet and would proudly show her off to friends and family as she is THAT awesome.”

Salt would probably do best in a home with older kids since she can sometimes be a bit excitable in her playful moods! Salt is currently living with two dogs in her foster home and seems like she would be content with or without a canine friend in her new home.
