Lady LAYLA is now ready to find her very own family. Sweet Layla was abandoned in South Carolina and was brought by animal control to our partner shelter. It wasn't long before she melted the hearts of the volunteers, but she was overlooked as she was older and had heartworms. The volunteers spent as much time as they could with her, learning about her manners and personality and after seeing the pictures and videos and their description of how sweet and gentle this lady is, we offered her Rescue. She has been in a loving foster family for a few months as we had her treated for heartworms. We are all thankful that the treatment is over and she is on the mend.

Layla is about 50 pounds and although we don't know her age, we will say she's over 8, putting her in the senior category. She is a very laid back, calm and steady energy. She is living with another canine friend as well as feline friends and shares her space contently. She is more of a people kinda dog, than a dog dog, so she would do fine in a home without canine's as well. Her favorite pass time is being with people. Her ideal home would be with a family/couple that matches her energy level. A family with young, active kiddos would probably not be her favorite, but one that enjoys the leisure things in life and takes things as they flow, would be more her style.
