More About GABBY

Meet Gabby-

A stunningly beautiful Catahoula dog mix she features half blue/ half brown eyes, the softest blue and brown coat and an expressive and loving personality.
Gabby is just over a year old and much like many other dogs in our southern shelters she didn’t get the best start in life.

She and her 6 siblings were allowed to be mostly feral until they were 7 months old when they were brought to the shelter by a good samaritan.
Unsocialized and fearful when she first arrived Gabby has been in a foster home since July. When she first arrived she was too scared to come out of her crate and fearful of all people.

During the months in foster care she has begun to come out of her shell and is learning to trust people. She loves to play with other dogs, enjoys games of tug and toss and is a wonderful companion for evening snuggles on the couch. She also enjoys dancing like a deer and doing Zoomies around the yard.
Gabby will take time to learn to trust in her new home- currently she does best with women (adores her foster mom) and is slowly learning to trust men. Despite her fear she has never done anything aggressive.

She happily shares her space with three other dogs, naps with them and snuggles in to her canine friends at night. She loves to be outside and enjoys time running around in her fenced yard. She is learning leash skills (a work in progress), is beautifully crate trained and is on a potty schedule she has mastered perfectly.

She will do best in a quiet home with a very dog savvy person or family- as she will need to continue her training and development. A canine companion or friends nearby will be great too.

She will probably always do best with women- her fear of men is very overwhelming to her. Gabby is a happy, wonderful and well behaved girl however she will not do well for a first time dog family as she will need more training and socializing so she can continue to thrive.

If you are looking for a special dog to work with, snuggle with, and develop a life long bond with Gabby is your girl.
