More About ALEGRIA

Alegría is our newest SATO that has now joined us here in Vermont to start a new journey and looking for her family to join! She is about 8 months old and currently 13 pounds. She's a supermutt, both parents also being supermutts! We have pictures here of Mom and Dad too so you can see where she gets her good looks from!

She was lucky enough to find a flight/foster angel and a ticket on the plane to Vermont and we're here to help her start the next chapter in her book of life!

Here is what her flight angel/foster mom has to say!

Abandoned in the mountains of Puerto Rico, Alegría and her stray parents made their way to our door where they were met with food, water, a bath, and lots of love. Two days later her parents took off and it was just this shy puppy left sleeping by our door.

Although shy to start, as she warmed up to me and trusted me, her playful, joyous puppy side started to blossom and thus aptly named “Alegría” or “Joy” in Spanish for this sweet Caribbean puppy.

She has demonstrated incredible smarts as well an ability to trust in scary situations (first ride in car/vet visit). Although quiet, s
he is incredibly social with her chosen person and loves to engage in play outside as well as snuggles on the sofa. She is a bit of a lap dog/close proximity sweetheart and would flourish with someone who has patience w a timid dog, utilizing positive reinforcement training knowing the reward is fabulous and spunky sidekick that is easy to travel with as well as cuddle up for the night.
No child or cat experience observed. Potentially fine for a home w a cat. Does well with other non aggressive dogs- submissive disposition. However, potentially not a great fit for kids as she is timid and fast movement or loudness causes her stress.

This Caribbean Sato rescue is sweet and kind beyond words and will be sure to cause big belly laughs all day as she comes out of her shell and you experience her joy in connecting with you!

Alegría would make an amazing emotional support dog for a lucky human in search of a joyous best friend.
