More About BUBBLES

BUBBLES is now ready to interview for a job being a homebody a loyal canine buddy following you around helping with daily tasks. She is approximately 3 years old and weighs in at about 55 pounds of solid love.

She has been in a lovely foster home for quite some time getting her healthy, strong, confident and learning all things that would make her world grand!
This Black Beauty loves routine! She would benefit from a dog savvy person/family that could give her a consistent schedule to look forward to. She is housebroken and is crate trained. She currently just eats in her crate to give her confidence and peace of mind when eating around her other canine foster siblings. She has earned free roam of the home when left alone, although she would prefer not to to be left alone for long periods of time as she truly loves being with her people.

She would do best in a home in a more rural vs. a neighborhood or apartment like setting so she can enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere and not worry about “city noises”. Dog savvy kitties would be okay and kiddos over 6 years of age, just because of her “bull in a China shop” personality and size. Bubbles would be a great solo dog or another playful, confident resident canine friend.
Bubbles foster mom has been working on leash skills and she does well on a harness with long line for hikes, she excellent recall and prefers not to be far from her people or her packmates.

She continues to work on loose leash walking on a shorter leash with mild distractions and will need support as she continues to improve if walking in a “city/village” type environment and prefers not to meet strange dogs or people on leash. Bubbles has many dog friends she plays well with proper introduction, but strange dogs on leash are very difficult for her. Her play style is rough and tumble for sure, typical bully breed play style but tones it down well and listens to corrections from other pups.

Bubbles has some basic foundation skills under her paws, including sit, down, come, stay, paws up, touch, chase (treat scatter) and she’s good with body handling for nails and bath and ears.

Bubbles particularly loves tug toys! . Shares her toys with other pups and people no problem. Has done very well around the foster mom’s 6 year old niece, she seeks attention and super gentle with her. Bubbles loves belly rubs and physical affection of any kind from her trusted people, very sensitive girl overall. She will bark when strangers come into the home but with a couple treats and some reassurance from her people she quickly warms up.

Daily energy outlet should be part of her daily activity. Currently, she gets about an hour hike and a half hour to 45 minute training/leash walk a day. Bubbles has medium energy and is content to be a couch potato as long as she gets some kind of play time. Initially barked at the foster mom’s senior cat but after a week has just ignored her.

Bubbles prefers to sleep in the bed with her people and does well overnight. Overall Bubbles is a very sweet and incredibly sensitive dog who is lacking confidence. With some dedication and compassion, she will blossom into a wonderful companion.

Bubbles is being fostered in Burlington, VT.
