More About DARLA

Delightful Darla! Our black beauty Darla has been doing a great job in her foster home learning all the basic manners and skills giving her a great foundation to begin her journey with a family of her own.

She is approximately 7 months old, sweet, curious and playful. She has baskets of toys that she ruffles through to pick just the right one. She is crate trained, potty trained and is learning her leash skills like a champ. She currently lives with other dogs and engages nicely in play with them.

Her foster mom describes her as having medium energy. She loves her daily walks and would love a place to run. She is cautiously friendly with other dogs and people and gently engages once she feels secure. Darla is fun, enthusiastic and loving. She doesn’t wander far from her foster mom during her outdoor excursions. She is food motivated which has been useful in teaching her new skills. Darla is also athletic and smart. She already fetches a ball and knows some simple commands such as sit and come.

Darla also enjoys the company of kiddos! She gets so excited around children that she meets and invites them to play. Dog savvy kiddos would be ideal and Darla is a puppy even though she is so happy to see the kids, she will be jumpy and playful with them.

Darla’s ideal home would be with a family that hash plenty of time to provide daily exercise, continue with her skill building and of course the cuddles and belly rubs. Darla may also be an excellent candidate for agility training, nose work games, or any social class where she can learn new things and have the socialization with other canine friends. She may even be a candidate for a service dog with the proper training. She would also probably enjoy a good/reputable doggie daycare for those days where she would otherwise be left alone for a longer period of time.

Oh, and she is a master at the head-tilt!

Darla is being fostered in Bernardston, MA.
