This handsome boy was abandoned at a campsite and a concerned family brought him to one of our partner shelters in South Carolina after his owners could not be found. Bernard was held for an additional time at the shelter and still his owners did not come for him so we quickly made arrangements for this boy to come to Vermont so we could find him the family he deserves, one that won’t let him down again. He has quickly proved to be an amazing boy, easily integrating into a foster home with two female dogs, three cats, and a former male rescue dog Banks (incidentally, rescued from the same shelter!) who is a frequent visitor. Bernard is super friendly, easy-going, listens well, a good leash walker, loves to snuggle, medium energy, would enjoy a family that would include him on all their adventures…long walks, swimming, off leash hiking, picnics. He rides well in the car, is quiet in his crate, nothing to work on with this boy except for some basic obedience training. If you are looking for a well-balanced, loyal furry companion that you would be proud to take anywhere, look no further! He would fit right in with a family with children, other dogs, or would be happy to be the only furry family member. Yup, he really is that awesome!! American Bulldog/Lab mix, 65 lbs, 2 years old.
