Hi, thanks for checking me out. If you have a minute, I have a tale to tell. You see, the first part of my life wasn't so great. I landed in a high kill shelter where I was afraid and didn't dare to come out of my kennel. Nobody who visited the shelter took notice of me so there I sat with no chance of being adopted. My time was coming to an end soon as I was on the list of dogs to be put to sleep. As luck would have it, a kind person saw my plea for help and decided I deserved a second chance. Since then, my life took a turn for the better!
I was taken into a wonderful foster home where I made some great canine friends, spent time around teenagers, and got along nicely with cats too. Then a nice couple came along and adopted me. I became best buddies with their other dog Josie, who is fun and confident. Over time I became more comfortable and confident myself and many of my anxieties melted away. My caretakers are patient and gentle and understand that I need safe spaces to relax and a predictable schedule to ease my anxieties. When i do I am a sweet and reliable friend. I love being outside, going for walks, and taking long naps in the sun, but best of all I love having a canine friend to pal around with and help me to feel secure when I hear or see something I don’t understand. I am low key, have nice manners, ride well in the car, and am cool with chickens too! Recently though, my caretakers brought home a baby. I was fine at first, but now the baby is running around, and my anxieties are getting the best of me. I find it hard to relax around an unpredictable toddler. I’m going to be heartbroken to leave this family that I love and trust, but I believe the next right home and family will find me and give me the love and stability that I need. I’m dreaming of a simple life with thoughtful, patient caregivers in a quiet home with a fenced in yard and a supportive canine friend. I would love nothing more than to keep my bff Josie by my side and would be thrilled if someone would be willing to adopt us together. While I will always have some anxiety in certain situations and sensitivity to strange noises, in time I will be comfortable again. And soon enough I will be rolling over hoping for a belly rub! 7 yrs, 60 lbs
