More About Luke

Luke was rescued from a shelter in South Carolina and brought to Vermont back in January so he could receive lifesaving treatment for heartworms and then search for a loving family. With an extended stay in a foster home while he recovers from heartworm treatment, his foster family has learned that Luke is very sweet, smart, and food motivated. He has learned some basic obedience including sit, down, and working on come and stay. He is being fostered with three other dogs and once he felt safe in his new environment he relaxed and lives in harmony among the other dogs, but would be just as happy to be an only dog too.

Luke has been an easy foster dog, is housebroken, crate trained, has nice house manners, and has just the right amount of energy. Luke would make a wonderful companion for long walks or hikes in the woods. He loves to play with toys, interacting with humans, and is quite a snuggle bug! He longs to be a cherished member of a lifelong family of his own.

Luke is 2-3 years old, 45 lbs and his foster family had his DNA tested and he is a mixed breed through and through….. combination of Boxer, Rottweiler, Cocker Spaniel, and Russell Terrier.
