More About Leo

Here is what the shelter had to say about our Leo…. he’s one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever had at the shelter. He’s very quiet and laid back. He is a little timid on a leash. He just needs to build some confidence. He’s great with other dogs and he’s great with cats. He just really is a sweet sweet soul. I love him. I feel like he probably didn’t have the best life. He deserves to be cherished pet who knows what it is like to live inside of a house with a real family.

Leo is out of the shelter and he is settling into one of our dedicated foster homes here in Vermont where he is receiving much needed love and attention. Leo has his own warm bed, lots of toys, and is quickly learning the joys of a stable life, regular meals, and the love of a family for the first time ever. Leo’s foster Mom says that he is a bit nervous of busy streets and passing cars, so he really prefers quieter walks in the woods. He is playful with other dogs and gains more confidence when he can follow their lead. A home in a more rural setting would suit him just fine and he would make a great companion for another dog who is ready to teach him the ropes. He is a bit timid meeting new people and other dogs but with proper introductions and a little time he warms up once he has gained your trust.

Leo is looking for a family who wouldn’t mind taking things a bit slower to work with him on building confidence, give him some time to establish trust, and you will be sure to get a loyal, loving companion in return. Hound mix, 1-2 years old, 53 lbs.
