More About Rue

Over the past few months we have gotten to know all about Rue as she has been well-cared for in one of our dedicated foster homes while she completed life-saving heartworm treatment and is now ready to join a lifelong family of her own. What we have learned about Rue is that she is dog friendly, not a big fan of cats, has nice house manners, is easy going, and walks nicely on-leash.

Rue’s foster Mom has been bringing her to basic obedience classes where she is attentive and focused in class and making great progress learning commands. Consistency with training and establishing leadership will be helpful as Rue can be pushy for all of the attention so she would do best with a family who will teach her that demanding behavior will get her nowhere but nice manners will be rewarded! Rue can be a bit shy meeting new people, but once she warms up and wins your trust she enjoys snuggling in your lap and showering you with kisses. You couldn’t find a more loving, loyal companion in sweet Rue!

Approximately 2 years old, 55 lbs, DNA test results - 50% American Staffordshire Terrier, 50% Boxer, Labrador Retriever, Australian Shepherd, with a hint of Chow Chow.
