ELIA

ELIA

Meet Elia!!!🥰🥰🥰 Elia is hoping she only needs to interview for a forever home one last time. Elia is a small, 14lb, 2 year old little girl who just needs to find the right family. Elia is cute, cuddly and graceful. She leaps and bounds like a small gazelle or baby deer. She loves playing with squeaky toys. She loves her people and thrives with a well rounded relationship with her people. She prefers women and will completely attach to her female human, but actually does best when treated equally among her pup siblings and other humans. She may tolerate a man in her home, but she will need to interview the potential men in her life and those men should not expect to be

JACK

JACK

We wanted to share an update on our foster dog Jack! He's been with us for over a month now and we have been able to learn a lot about him. He was an owner surrender and his last home was very stressful for him in many ways. He needed time to reset, have a structured and predictable routine, have the freedoms to be a dog and make good choices with some guidance. It always is amazing to watch dogs go through the stages of decompression and learn really what their needs are based on a variety of things, including past experiences, genetics, their own personality and good health. Jack is a different dog than when he came. We've learned how to support his insecurities.

Raven

Raven

Meet Raven, our sweet Foxhound mix! Once listed as CODE RED at a shelter in North Carolina and in danger of being euthanized, volunteers both near and far sprung into action to quickly hatch a plan to rescue Raven. With the help of friends of the shelter, a generous offer from Coonhound Companions “Project Hound” to sponsor all of her vetting needs, and Transport making room for Raven, she arrived safe and sound in Vermont and is enjoying the good life in a stable foster home while waiting to unite with a family she deserves. Raven arrived at the shelter as a stray so we do not have any information about her former life. We do know that Raven is a nice, medium sized girl

EVANDER

EVANDER

Our handsome boy EVANDER has joined our group of pups that have been in foster homes here in Vermont and now ready to interview for families of their very own. EVANDER is our gorgeous, chocolate colored boy aged at just under 1 year and weighs in at just under 50 pounds. He has settled in nicely with his foster home that consists of 2 other dogs, respectful kiddos, a visiting kitty and lots of visitors coming and going. He is a very happy, excited guy who loves to meet new canine friends and people alike. He is known to love piles of dogs and/or people and will be found on top, underneath or tangled within. He’s a draper, a cuddler and a bed hog. He

ROCKY

ROCKY

Rocky is aged at about 5 years young, but really has so much puppy left in him. Probably making up for lost time? His FAVORITE thing, well besides snuggles and belly rubs, is playing fetch. And yes, a complete game including dropping it at your feet every time for another throw! Rocky has been working hard on manners and leash skills, as he didn’t have any when he first arrived, and being fostered in the big city of Burlington, has had its challenges, but his foster mom has done a wonderful job coaching him through the struggles and he’s becoming more confident every day. An ideal home/family would be one where Rocky could be the center of attention. He loves his people and wants to

Lucky Ducky

Lucky Ducky

Are you looking for a new best friend and adventure partner? Lucky Ducky is searching for a family to call his own. His foster Mom cannot express just how amazing he is. He had a vet appointment for a pesky ear infection and was phenomenal (the vet techs adore him). We went to the feed store for the first time and he walked perfect on leash, sniffed, never tried to take anything off the shelves, he even got to pick out a lovely new toy….although he couldn’t quite understand how everyone walked by him as he sat gazing with those big “pet me puppy eyes”. I then had to run into a few stores and he happily laid down to nap the entire time I

Tucker

Tucker

Calling all hound lovers! Tucker, our Black & Tan Coonhound mix, came all the way from an overcrowded shelter in South Carolina to find a family to love and call his own. While Tucker does not bay or howl which is typical of hounds, his voice carries when he gets excited so he is not a good candidate for apartment living. He would love a home with some space and freedom of a fenced in yard to romp off-leash. If you are looking for a walking companion, look no further as Tucker walks nicely on leash and looks forward to daily walks with neighbors and canine friends. Then he is quite content to lounge and snooze on the couch for the rest of the day.

BETA

BETA

Brindle Baby Beta Little 3 month old Beta came to Vermont all the way from the Caribbean island of St. Croix. Beta was found with her litter mates in the jungle of the St. Croix rainforest. Her parents are unknown, but based on her age and current weight, we expect her to be 40-ish lbs when full grown. She is a beautiful orange, brindle color with thick fluffy medium length fur. Beta is spunky and sassy. She loves exploring and playing with her foster siblings. She loves teething toys, rope toys, and stuffies. She loves chasing a ball around the house and will engage in play with humans and her dog siblings. While she does enjoy her dog siblings, she also is independent and does

ORCHID

ORCHID

We are now introducing our little gal ORCHID who is ready to meet a permanent family of her own. She came into our partner shelter in South Carolina as a stray and surprisingly nobody came to claim her. She’s a beautiful little lady and was lucky to spend some time in a temporary foster home in South Carolina while we made all the vet and transport arrangements to have her come to Vermont to join one of our foster families here. This has given her the chance to unwind, decompress and also gives us a bit of time to learn about her and what her needs are for an ideal match with family. What do we know about little ORCHID? She has the sweetest little

MR. FARLEY

MR. FARLEY

Farley is a happy, wagging snuggle boy first thing in the morning - he greets his favorite people with cuddly enthusiasm and wants all the pets they can offer. With his snuggle meter refilled, he is happy to just hang out with his people. At mealtimes he runs to his place mat and sits, waiting for his bowl. He loves to help make dinner or prepare his frozen treat toys by sampling ingredients and licking spoons. Farley is house-trained, crate-trained, current on all vaccinations, neutered, and is taking NexGard and Heartgard. He likely is around 2-3 years old. Although he is happy to hang out on a sofa or dog bed, he also needs regular mental and physical exercise (he still has some young dog

QUEENIE

QUEENIE

Look at this little Cutie! Her name is Queenie…. She arrived from our partner shelter with her pretty mama Quinn! This little lady stepped off transport ready to explore the world. She is learning to be a confident young girl at almost 3 months old. She is about 11 pounds, her mama, full grown is 30 pounds, so we think little Queenie will be similar to her mama in size when she’s adult. She is smart and learns direction quickly. She has a few great canine mentors in her home, some to teach her manners and respect and the other to teach her how to adventure around the woods. She even has feline friends that she has come to respect, love and cuddle with. Queenie

GEMMA

GEMMA

We are re-introducing this lovely lady GEMMA! She has been with one of our lovely foster homes since September and has settled in nicely and has shown us what a true GEM she really is! She is a well-balanced, happy girl who enjoys taking each day in stride. Gemma is at an ideal weight of 65 pounds. She is poetry in motion when she runs and as gentle as can be with the kiddos and grand-kiddos always visiting. Gemma also lives with 2 canine siblings which she gets along great with, but she would also do well being a singleton. She loves one on one attention and if offered a lap, she will not think twice about keeping it warm. Kitties? Not a problem, she

RINGO STARR!

RINGO STARR!

Say hello Ringo Starr, the goofy, 2yr old wonder pup! Ringo has been settling in nicely with his new foster mom in VT, and now ready to interview a family to call his own. He may look like a larger dog in the pics and even has a deep big dog bark, but this little cutie is on the smaller side at about 35 pounds and knee height! Your guess is as good as ours on what breed he is, but what we do know that he's a fun loving guy who enjoys cozy couch time and belly rubs as much as he does a long romp in the woods. He's even been working on his off leash skills and likes to stay close to

BURDOCK

BURDOCK

Its time to introduce another one of our black pups named BURDOCK! He’s a handsome, solid pup weighing in at about 45 pounds and about 8 months old. He has been with his foster family here in Vermont settling in quite nicely with both his canine foster siblings and the family kiddos! He also has a feline friend in the home which has been a great mentor for him learning all things kitty, including the important feline respect. BURDOCK is a tender hearted guy. He likes the feeling of safety when introduced to new people and places. His foster family has given the safe feeling and he has spread his wings, opening up to show his joy for affection from his people and his silly,

LEXI (shelter name Alicia)

LEXI (shelter name Alicia)

We’d like to introduce you to LEXI! The pretty red headed girl with the golden eyes. She is a 1-year-old, 45 lb. female – perfect size & great age. We don’t know much about Lexi’s past, except that she was a stray wandering the streets in South Carolina before she was picked up by our rescue partner. Lexi loves people. She politely engages and hopes for some pets. She likes to be near you or on top of you (if you allow it) but she is not the type to have to be at your side 100% of the time. She is respectful of your space but if allowed she would like to lounge on the couch with you or sit at your feet. We

SHILOH

SHILOH

We have some lovely black pups we are introducing and are available here in Vermont to meet approved adopters. Shiloh! He’s a very nice fella with a sweet demeanor at about 45 pounds and 1 year (ish) old. He was unfortunate to spend some of this short life behind shelter walls, but one of the lucky ones to find himself to our rescue family. He’s been living with two other dogs and is very respectful and is socially appropriate. He matches playstyles with a mix of tug, chase and wrestling. He shares toys nicely, respectful during mealtimes and enjoys his crate as his “bedroom”. He sleeps in his crate and enjoys being in there when the family leaves the home. He is housebroken and walks

SKY (fka Izzy)

SKY (fka Izzy)

Sky! We are soooo proud of Sky. This lady spent so much of her life in the shelter and before that has an unknown history. Because the shelter is over capacity, she was placed on the euthanasia list simply because she was there the longest and obviously overlooked. She came off transport thin, shut down, afraid of her new world and the unknown. Sky is about 2 years old and about 40 pounds. This is where one of our lovely foster homes stepped in to be her hero. Together with a loving home full of well balanced pups, Sky took on her new world with her mentors and coaches by her side. What a difference! We will be forever grateful for the perfect foster home

DAISY

DAISY

We’d like to introduce DAISY. We are now actively looking for an ideal family for her to unite with and become a team member of the family. Please read carefully before filling out our application. Daisy is an owner surrender and does have some special needs for her to be successful and a loving, proud member of a family. Daisy is a 2-year-old Goldendoodle. We were contacted by her original owner for help in placing due to unforeseen circumstances within the family. Daisy, now 2, has had little exposure to the bigger world outside of her home and little coaching to help her navigate through it until now. She has been with one of our experienced foster homes that has opened her world up in

RUFUS

RUFUS

RUFUS… we have the perfect mix of Cattle Dog? Corgi? Pitty? And a definite genuine good boy! He’s already a pretty balanced fella with one ear up and the other down and always ready to be your wingman. Rufus is just about 1 year old, he was brought to the shelter with his 2 siblings, Bingo and Cheyenne, also here in Vermont. He’s a great size at 45 pounds, LOVES all dogs and people. He has been learning respectful greeting manners around people. He’s a friendly and engaging guy and now understands that four on the floor means more attention! Once he gets to say hi, he’s polite and accepts attention lovingly. He is crate trained and learning good house manners. He has had excellent

MISTY

MISTY

Please meet and share lovely MISTY! Misty is a just under 1 year old Bernedoodle who has joined our rescue and is now with one of our lovely foster homes while we go on the hunt for her ideal family. Misty was surrendered because she was purchased from a breeder and ended up in a home that was not quite right for her age and energy level. We’re happy to help to find a family that can meet this little cutie’s needs. Misty is about 35 pounds and full grown. She would thrive with a dog savvy owner/family that can be her coach and show her how to confidently navigate her world. She is shy at first, but once she knows her people, she is

CHEYENNE "CHEY"

CHEYENNE "CHEY"

Ahh Cheyenne! This little charmer is about one year old, probably cattle dog mix and all of 35+/- pounds. At first meeting, she appears reserved and a little unsure, however once you share some rapport (and some food) you’ve got a sweetheart sidekick with a goofy playful energy in a small compact body. “Chey” loves to cuddle with her people and other doggos, and is also perfectly happy settling in on her own with a chewy or one of her favorite stuffy toys. She loves a good game of catch me if you can when playing with other canine friends. Tug and silliness with her human is solid gold in her opinion. She does really well with backyard and/or outdoor settings where she can run

FOZZY

FOZZY

Fosbury (aka Fozzy) This little boy is gentle and smart. He is an easy going medium to low energy pup. He was rescued off of the island of St. Croix. His first months of life have exposed him to many different and unique situations and this has made him adaptable, easy going and curious. Fozzy is 12 weeks old and has such a great zest for life. He has endless affection to give, will cuddle up close and keep you warm on those chilly nights because he loves sleeping in the humans bed. He’s a go with the flow boy, ready to go on a car ride, a long walk, an outdoor adventure or whatever activities you allow him to participate in. He’s appropriately cautious

BINGO

BINGO

Who is looking for the BEST BOY? This guy is simply a rock star. Not only is he beautiful on the outside, but he has a beautiful, lovely soft soul on the inside. He is just under 1 year old; we think he’s a cattle dog mixed with maybe red fox! Just kiddin, but he truly is that stunning. He is just over 40 pounds and at his ideal, adult weight. He has learned TONS in the time he’s been with his foster family. He is crate trained, good on a leash, excellent recall and re-direction, sits and stays nicely, gentle with food, polite with people and other dogs, enjoys car rides, nicely engages other people with a slight wiggle but and a slight grin

BUGSY

BUGSY

BUGSY! Our happy, goofy, fun loving and so very handsome has been waiting to be noticed by a family looking to add a balanced dog of fun and snuggles to their life. BUGSY has been with one of our foster families since August and they have done a tremendous job with him. From knowing only shelter life to now being introduced to the big world of Vermont! He has done well with his social skills, meets people with all tail wags and a wiggle butt. His leash skills have improved 100% from pulling all over the place, to now nicely walking and looking for direction. He's earned some free off leash time with his recall skills and really enjoys the trails. He has no desire

NOVA

NOVA

Our special girl NOVA! This sweet girl is such a trooper. She arrived at our partner shelter as a stray or most likely a throw away. Her belly full of parasites and puppies! In an already crowded, loud shelter, she had no choice to give birth to her 7 little nuggets. She was the sweetest, most attentive mama those pups could have asked for. She never received rescue during those weeks that her puppies grew up and eventually went to rescue themselves, but she was left behind. A few months went by with no interest in helping Nova and she ended up on the dreaded urgent list. Seeing her sweet, face, her wiggly but and her wonderful foster homes. She made the Freedom Ride north
